Robert Page, Co-Owner's Story

Established in 2014, Granny's Confections is the realization of a long-held dream by co-owner Robert Page.

When I was growing up, my grandmother made the best peanut brittle I had ever tasted. One day, I asked her to show me how she prepared it. She agreed, but made me promise to keep her secret recipe safe, and I've honored that promise to this day. As I grew older, I started making peanut brittle for church gatherings, birthdays, and holidays at work. Overwhelmingly, everyone told me how amazing the brittle was and encouraged me to sell it.

Years passed, and I continued to receive the same feedback: "This is the best brittle I've ever had; you should sell it." Encouraged by this response, my business partner Patrick Taylor and I decided to open Granny's Confections to share my grandmother's recipe with a wider audience. In 2014, we launched our small 300-square-foot location in Hartland, Michigan. We worked hard to build customer trust and loyalty.

After two years of dedication and handcrafting every order of brittle, we relocated to a 1,200-square-foot space in Howell, Michigan. Our customer base continued to grow through word of mouth, as satisfied customers shared their experiences with friends and family. We actively participated in community events, sampling our products and introducing ourselves to potential customers.

In 2020, we purchased a 1,700-square-foot location in Howell, where we currently operate. This store is conveniently located near Downtown Howell and has easy access to the interstate. We are committed to continuing our outreach to customers and organizations, spreading the word about our award-winning brittle.

We handmake and hand-pack every order of our delicious brittle to ensure the highest quality. My grandmother taught me three important rules that we follow every day: 1. Never cut corners. 2. Use quality ingredients. 3. Put love into everything you do. We offer eight amazing flavors of our handmade brittle, including peanut brittle, pecan brittle, cashew brittle, jalapeño peanut brittle, coconut brittle, almond brittle, nutless (no nut) brittle, and habanero jalapeño peanut brittle.

We offer a selection of Caramel Popcorn that is perfect for movie lovers. Our Caramel Popcorn features air-popped popcorn coated in our award-winning handmade brittle flavors. It truly is amazing! We have three delicious varieties: Peanut Popcorn, Cashew Popcorn, and Pecan Popcorn. Enjoy a delightful treat with every bite!
